“Songs For The Cure†is a group of 12 songwriters from The “Oregon Songwriters†community who are donating their time and passion to put on an all original music show, to raise even more money for the American cancer society.
This year “Songs For The Cure†is honoring Peggy Stevens. Peggy was a member of Believe Fitness who was diagnosed with cancer last year and passed away earlier this year at the age of 62. She was a beautiful, thoughtful and outgoing woman whose love for life made her courageous fight for life amazing. She inspired those around her and will be dearly missed.
Believe fitness has a strong connection to survivors and non-survivors of cancer. They currently have 15 members who are survivors of the disease. One member has reached her 22nd year after her last treatment. This year they had two members that were diagnosed with cancer and are currently in treatment. Kristi the manager has an aunt who has been diagnosed and a mother who is a 7 plus year survivor. Jodi lost her sister to breast cancer 22 years ago at the age of 46. Cancer touches everyone’s life sooner of later, that is why everyone must find more creative ways to get the community involved in this fight.
“SFTC†will be held at the future site of Believe Fitness in downtown Sandy. This is a family friendly outdoor event with grilled foods and beverages for all ages. Adult beverages will be available in the beer and wine garden for adults over 21. The address is 39570 Pioneer Blvd, Sandy, OR 97055. The building is located on the east end of downtown Sandy towards the mountain, just before Pioneer Avenue meets Proctor Avenue and turns back into hwy 26.
